Roberto Bautista Agut insists he doesn’t want Rafael Nadal to be injured despite wanting to be able to play at the ATP Finals.
Nadal announced he had sustained a right abdominal strain after practising his serve at the Paris Masters on Saturday.
He told Spanish publication
Marca: “
I would like to be able to play. But on the other hand, I don't want anyone to be injured, let alone Rafa.”
Bautista Agut backed his fellow Spaniard to come through the group if fit.
He said: “
It is tough because they are the eight best in the world. It will depend more on Rafa than on the rivals, since if he is well and plays at a high level, it doesn't matter who is ahead.”
The ATP Finals get underway on November 10.
