Robbie Fowler makes Liverpool vs Everton prediction

Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler has predicted Sunday's Merseyside derby as Carlo Ancelotti plots an upset against Jurgen Klopp's Premier League leaders. "I haven’t got a clue what team Jurgen Klopp will put out against Everton – but I do know he will still want to win the Merseyside derby. For Liverpool, in the grand scheme of things, it’s probably the least important of the competitions they are involved in," Fowler wrote. "We all know the Premier League and Champions League are greater priorities but Liverpool will still go into the FA Cup believing they can land the famous trophy. The fact that they don’t play again in the Premier League until Saturday evening indicates that Klopp could go with a bit of a stronger team than maybe you first imagine. "I suspect there will be a mix of younger and experienced players. It definitely won’t be the team that played in the Carabao Cup at Aston Villa which was full of youngsters. "After all they are still facing the neighbours and bragging rights are at stake. From an Everton point of view this is one of the biggest games of the season. The Premier League is seen as the be all and end all for clubs but fans still want to see success in the Cups. "If this game had been a few weeks ago then whatever team Liverpool had put out they would have started as mega favourites. I still think they are to a lesser degree, but with Everton having appointed  "Carlo Ancelotti there is a new found confidence and belief at Goodison and that will give them and their fans more hope. Carlo knows the importance of the FA Cup. He won it with Chelsea in 2010, the year they achieved the Double. He won’t need reminding what is at stake at Anfield. "He will also already know about Everton’s history and that the club haven’t won any silverware since 1995 – the year they beat Manchester United in the FA Cup final. He’s a tremendous manager – one who has won loads of things in the past. He knows what a good run in the FA Cup can do for Everton. With trophies in the bag it gives you a better opportunity of attracting top players. All players want to win things. I’m certain Everton will name their strongest side. A win over Liverpool would give their season a real boost and momentum. "Liverpool made a few changes which might have surprised people in the League game at Anfield last month although they still ended up winning 5-2. That was one in the eye for the critics who have been saying that Liverpool’s squad isn’t strong enough. There are players fighting to be involved, desperate to prove they deserve a place in the side. "I got up at 6am here in Brisbane to watch Liverpool easily defeat Sheffield United. It was again well worth it. You start thinking to yourself are we watching the best ever Liverpool side? It’s always difficult comparing eras but with what they have achieved in reaching the Champions League final and then winning it the next year - and if they finally win the Premier League this season then yes they could be the greatest ever Liverpool team. And that is really saying something. "The best thing about this Liverpool side is they look comfortable in everything they do. They look an all round, compact, quick, all together team. From a Liverpool point of view it’s great to watch. But despite how the table looks the players and the fans know it’s not over yet. I know everyone – even the supporters of other teams – are saying it’s Liverpool’s Premier League title. I know no one within Anfield is daft enough to think it is done. But this afternoon it’s the Cup. Would Liverpool want to win it? Of course they would. You look at the Manchester United sides of the nineties and beyond and they were winning everything, left right and centre so it shows it can be done. "When you are winning games it becomes a habit. When you are winning trophies, that becomes a habit. As a player you become greedy and want more and more." Source- The Mirror
