Rio Ferdinand reveals who is the only man for Chelsea job

Photo/BTsport Rio Ferdinand believes Frank Lampard is the right fit for the Chelsea job. Chelsea coach Maurizio Sarri is on the verge of signing a contract with Juventus and he is currently waiting for the Italian side to agree on a £5m deal with the Blues. Sarri has taken charge of 19 clubs in total and has yet to stay more than three seasons at any of them. Lampard has had just 12 months of managerial experience with Derby. But Ferdinand, who played with Lampard for West Ham and England, is adamant he is the right man to replace Sarri. “He is the perfect choice. People talk about experience but what experience did Pep Guardiola have when he went into Barcelona’s first team? He trained the younger kids at the club,” said BT Sport pundit Ferdinand, who will be England’s lead ambassador for Euro 2020. “Frank knows the club and he knows the players and the players will respect him. You can see he can carry himself in front of the media and in the football club and he can change things within a season. We have seen that at Derby. I know it’s a smaller club but we have seen him do it. I will actually be surprised if they look elsewhere.”
