Rio Ferdinand rates Liverpool title chances and picks out one player who will be 'pivotal'

Former Manchester United star Rio Ferdinand still thinks that Liverpool are the team to beat in the Premier League title race. The Reds have been hit with injuries, however, they are currently 2nd in the league table with the same amount of points as Tottenham, who are leading the table. Ferdinand also stated that Georginio Wijnaldum will be "pivotal" to the Reds retaining their title. Wijnaldum has been a subject of speculations as his current contract with the Premier League side expires at the end of the season. The midfielder has made 17 appearances so far during this season. Speaking on the FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: "Everyone's worried about Liverpool, are they going to be in a mini-slump now because of injuries? "I still think they're the team to catch, I say it every week. I think they've got amazing quality all over the park. "Their midfield and forward lines are to die for. I think Wijnaldum has been a key player before but now even more so with all these injuries. "His ability to play in multiple positions, he can play the No 10 where he plays brilliantly for Holland scoring loads of goals. "He can quite easily play the holding role like he did in the last game [vs Brighton]. I think he's somebody who is of huge importance. "Fabinho has had to go into the back-line now so he comes to the fore of being one of the main men in the team, if you didn't already believe that.
