Rio Ferdinand lined up for Manchester United return

Manchester United considering Rio Ferdinand as a candidate for Sporting Director. According to Daily Mail, Ed Woodard has met Ferdinand to discuss defenders possibility. Ferdinand is a six-time Premier League winner and can bring passion to the club. United want to use their rich heritage in the same way to Ajax, where Edwin Van Der Sar is a chief executive officer. As revealed last week, Mike Phelan has also held talks over the technical director position.
