REVEALED: What Dele Alli told Spurs to encourage them before Watford win

Mauricio Pochettino has revealed that Dele Alli had a very emotional speech before their win against Watford. The 22-year-old was made the captain of the game on his return to his hometown club MK Dons. He scored a penalty during the Carabao Cup match against Watford which ended 2-2 and then the winning spot kick in the shoot-out. Before the game Alli had a speech which inspired the players according to Pochettino. "I liked it, because he spoke from his heart before the game," said the Spurs boss. "I like that. If you ask me my opinion I thought it was very good. "I cannot say what he said but he was very good. He talked with his heart not with his brain." "He was so excited before the game. He was back in his hometown and playing at his old stadium," said Pochettino. "It was fantastic for him so I decided to make him captain. It was his first time as captain and I think he did very well." "He is more mature and has more experience," admitted Pochettino. "When you are young you do some crazy things. But he has grown up now. "Dele is higher than them. He is one of the best in England and he is one of the best in Europe in his position. I hope the experience of being captain for the first time will help him to improve even more."
