Republic of Ireland's U19 head coach Tom Mohan speaks out on UEFA U19 Euro final draw

UEFA European Under-19 championship’s final draw took place in Yerevan. The eight qualifiers were split into two groups of four. In an interview with Vbetnews, Republic of Ireland's U19 head coach Tom Mohan has spoken out on the draw results. "They are all difficult opponents because there cannot be easy games at the finals because everybody worked extremely hard to get here. They are all high-level teams and we are looking for the challenge," said Mohan. Armenia, Portugal, Italy and Spain are in Group A, while the Republic of Ireland will play with the Czech Republic, Norway and France in Group B. Mohan thinks it would not be easier for them to play in that group: "Well, if you look some of the nations aren't here, for example, Germany isn't here and Norway finished top in their group. England isn't here as the Czech Republic finished top in their group. So, that says something about those teams. France in our group is also a very strong side." According to head coach, all teams are on the same level and there are no favourites. "Obviously, everyone will look into top nations but when it comes to the final tournaments in football, everything can happen. There will be very competitive finals and we are now fully focused on our team," concluded Mohan. Armenia will host Championship's final tournament from 14 to 27 July for the first time in history. The group stage of the tournament will kick off on July 14 for the Group A and on July 15 for the Group B. The final game will take place on July 27 at the Republican Stadium, Yerevan.
