Manchester United are considering Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford as a candidate to replace David de Gea, according to the latest reports.
De Gea, who has been United's first-choice goalkeeper for 12 seasons, is entering the final three weeks of his contract with the club.
Although he is expected to stay on a reduced salary, there are concerns about his suitability for Erik Ten Hag's vision. The Dutchman is eager to bring in competition for the goalkeeper position this summer to progress in his second season as manager.
According to The Sun (via Express), Pickford has emerged as a priority target for United, regardless of whether De Gea stays or leaves. The 29-year-old is reportedly keen to play in the Champions League, which United can offer following their third-place finish in the Premier League.
Everton are said to be open to selling their keeper for a fee of around £30 million. As part of a deal for Pickford, United could offer Tom Heaton to Everton, which would see the player reunited with his former head coach Sean Dyche.
