Redknapp claims Steven Gerrard will be ready to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool

Former Liverpool midfielder Jamie Redknapp has claimed that Steven Gerrard will be ready to succeed Jurgen Klopp at Anfield. Gerrard has retired from professional football in 2016 and he currently manages Rangers. Gerrard has long been linked with a managerial role at Liverpool, with Klopp’s deal due to run out in 2024. The Liverpool legend failed to beat Celtic on the way for the Scottish Championship title. However, Redknapp believes Gerrard improved the club and he is ready to succeed as a manager. “Stevie is in Scotland and doing well,” said Redknapp. “Yes, it’s not easy [for him] because Celtic are so strong. But Stevie has got it [as a manager], you can see that. I think after a few years at Rangers, and as long as he doesn’t make too many mistakes, it’s only a question of time before he manages Liverpool when Jurgen Klopp decides to go."
