Red Bull's Max Verstappen insists he has 'nothing to prove' in title fight with Lewis Hamilton

Red Bull's Max Verstappen has insisted that he has 'nothing to prove' in his title fight with Lewis Hamilton. The two stars renewing their rivalry in Monaco this weekend and ahead of the race, Hamilton holds a 14-point lead at the top of the drivers' standings. When questioned about the recent comments from the Mercedes man, however, Verstappen chose to fire back. "Nope, I have nothing to prove," Verstappen said. "And avoiding contact, I think it goes both ways. So we have done well, that's true. But yeah, we race hard, we avoided the contact both sides. So let's hope we can keep doing that and keep being on-track and racing hard against each other." The duo have fascinated the crowds this year with Verstappen edging ahead of Hamilton on two occasions to take his position with some aggressive moves.
