Liverpool and Chelsea are interested in signing the German international. It has been earlier reported that Chelsea had initial talks with Leipzig, while Merseyside club has long been watching the player.
Werner himself had compliments for Liverpool back in February, when Leipzig visited London to face Tottenham in the Champions League Round of 16.
Germany national team forward scored the only goal from the away match, while Leipzig beat Jose Mourinho’s Spurs 4-0 to reach UCL quarter finals for the first time in their short history.
Werner then mentioned Liverpool and Manchester City as the clubs that every player could prefer for his improvement.
And now, after the Rashica deal is close to be completed, Werner’s departure from Leipzig remains a matter of time. The summer transfer window dates are yet to be decided, as currently European leagues are discussing the options on finishing the season.
