Daniil Medvedev has claimed that Rafael Nadal will have an advantage over Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic in the race to record Grand Slam titles as beating the Spaniard still remains the toughest challenge in the sport.
Medvedev said: "
I have not played against him on clay. It is not the best surface for me. But of course, when you look at the percentage of Nadal victories on the surface in general and Roland Garros in particular, it can definitely be described as the biggest challenge today.”
Nadal, who has 19 Grand Slam titles under his belt, is one away from equalling Federer’s record of 20 in men’s Open era.
