Pundit names Aston Villa's 'unsung hero' who has 'really impressed'

Pundit Darren Bent believes Matty Cash is already becoming an 'unsung hero' for Aston Villa after his impressive start to life in the Premier League. Cash's £14million move from Nottingham Forest went under the radar compared to the likes of the club-record deal for striker Ollie Watkins and loan swoop for Chelsea midfielder Ross Barkley. Cash had never played any higher than Championship level before joining Villa but former Villa striker Bent believes the full-back has what it takes to continue to impress. “Yes, he does. He’s probably been one of their unsung heroes, he’s impressed me," Bent told Football Insider. “He’s impressed me, the goalkeeper has impressed me but the ones that have been getting the credit are Ollie Watkins with his hat-trick, Ross Barkley with his two goals and Jack Grealish with his new contract. When you look at the bigger picture, Matty Cash has gone about his business very, very well and I’ve been really impressed with him.”
