Barcelona vs PSG prediction, preview, lineups and more | Champions League 2023/24

Barcelona and PSG will come up against each other in the Champions League quarterfinal, with the second leg set to take place at Camp Nou, in Barcelona, Spain, on April 16, 2024.

PSG vs Barcelona Predictions: 16/04/2024

This is the second time PSG come up against a Spanish side this season, following their purple patch results against Real Sociedad. The Parisians eliminated Real Sociedad from the UCL, following a comfortable 2-0 win in France, and a scrappy 2-1 win in Spain.

Barca may have struggled in some games this season due to injury issues, but they have managed to pull off top results from nothing. They held Napoli to a 1-1 draw in Naples, but finished the job off in Spain with a 3-1. And Xavi wouldn't mind following the same route with PSG.

Both teams have met eight times in the Champions League over the past few years, but neither team has successfully dominated this encounter. Barcelona won four, lost four, and drew four matches against Paris Saint-Germain.

The latest encounter between the clubs adds drama to these stats as Barcelona secured a 3-2 win over the French giants in the first leg of the European top tier. Barcelona posed as a stronger side than Real Sociedad, managing to break PSG's home form in the Champions League this season.

Following the result, we predict Barca's 2-1 win over the opponents at home in the second leg match.

Prediction: Barcelona 2-1 PSG

PSG vs Barcelona Betting Tips

PSG vs Barcelona - Preview & Team News

Paris Saint-Germain booked their place in the quarterfinal after they eliminated Real Sociedad from the UCL in the round of 16. They won the first encounter 2-0 at Parc des Princes and completed the draw with a hard-fought 2-1 win in Spain. Despite Kylian Mbappe's rumoured agreement to move to Real Madrid, the French Ligue 1 giants remain focused on the Champions League, and are not getting carried away in Ligue 1 either.

Speaking about Ligue 1, PSG are at the top of the table with 63 points, and are 10 points clear of 2nd-placed Brest. Should PSG somehow show Barcelona the exit door, they could go on to meet yet another Spanish team (Atletico Madrid) or cross paths again with Borussia Dortmund in the semi-final.

Barcelona are beginning to find their consistency, as they are unbeaten in their last eleven matches across all competitions, including their 3-1 win over Napoli at home. The Catalans reached the last eight of the UEFA Champions League after eliminating Napoli in the round of 16 with 4-2 goal aggregate.

Xavi Hernandez's side crashed out of the 2020/2021 Champions League campaign when they lost 5-2 on aggregate to PSG in the round of 16, and the La Liga giants will look to avoid the same fate when both teams meet again.

Barca are occupying the 2nd position in La Liga with 70 points, and are eight points behind league leaders, Real Madrid.
