PSG star Neymar has twice made comments about Machester City boss Pep Guardiola.
The Citizens are set to face the French team in the Champions League group stage on Tuesday. Guardiola has already sent a warning to his side regarding the rivals.
“We have to be compact, help each other and know we’re going to suffer and have pain. It’s how you handle the pain;. They’re so good, these type of teams; you have to be able to suffer for 90 minutes,” he said.
As for Neymar, he has previously shared his desire to play under the Catalan boss.
First comments came when the Brazil international was at Barcelona, while Guardiola was on verge of joining City from Bayern Munich.
"Guardiola is a guy that I really admire and who I would love to work with,” Neymar said in 2016.
The second comment came in 2018, the attacker reiterated his desire to work with former Barcelona boss following his record transfer to PSG.
"I have always wanted to work with Guardiola. It's different, I arrived [at Barca] after he left. I really want to work with him," he told
ESPN.
Now, these two will have the opportunity to see each other tonight, however, as opponents.
Lionel Messi is also included in PSG's Champions League squad. He is expected to start on the bench, but will surely play some minutes against his ex-coach's team.
