Manchester City are preparing to host Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League semi-final second leg on Tuesday. The first leg between the teams ended in City’s 2-1 win.
Ahead of the second leg, Pep Guardiola gave a press conference and here is what he said.
On feelings ahead of the game
“Privileged to live it, to be here. For most of us it’s the first time and we’ll do a good game to win the game. After we’ll see what happens.”
On semi-final struggles with Bayern?
“Every semi-final was different, the firs ttwo we didn’t deserve it, third we were so close. Every club every year is completely different. We arrive in a good moment. I said to the guys, don’t think much to win this game. Like we have done many times this season. We start with a small advantage. we play to win the game.”
On how dangerous are PSG still?
“The same dangers of the first leg. The same dangers of Chelsea, Madrid, Bayern, Barcelona. We are going to try and make them dangers. Just focus on what we have to do, I didn’t speak one word about them. They can change their shape, their manager is so clever, I don’t know what they are going to do. The desire to reach the final is normal, never been before here, we focus on ourelves to read, stick together in the bad moments, sffer together. We try to impose our game as much as possible. We defend well, be patient, and try to score goals.”
On team news?
“Eric Garcia is only one, he’s been sick with a fever and couldn’t travel to Palace and still isn’t ready. The rest are okay.”
Thoughts on the protest due to which Manchester United vs Liverpool was postponed
“I wanted to take a look but couldn’t. What happened happened. I don’t know when the game will be played.”
On Stones and Dias
“They are comfortable together. The level Aymer expresses in the last games he plays always he was perfect with John or Ruben. Last game, Nathan was exceptional. Eric you know my opinion, he never makes a bad performance. They are good, communicate good, help eachother, talk a lot, they are comfortable.”
On Mbappe and Neymar
“They played really well, in the fisrt half was exceptional. Mbappe dangerous, int he second half we were better. They judged Mbappe and Neymar because they lost, if they won they play good. I think they played good. What’s the best way for them to not play good? That’s what we try to do tomorrow.”
