Press Conference: Frank Lampard speaks about Jorginho, Tammy Abraham and Chelsea victory

Chelsea came from behind to beat Arsenal 2-1 in their latest Premier League game. Jorginho and Tammy Abraham earned the victory for the Blues. Following the game, Chelsea boss Frank Lampard has faced the press. Did you get formation wrong at start?
I don’t think we got it wrong. I’d have questioned my sanity... the main thing was the spirit, character. They were quicker, favour. It’s not just Emerson, probably any of the players. It’s hard to convey a message with your voice so it had to be a gesture. It got better. It wasn’t jsut the three but Arteta isn’t silly and he saw how we played at Spurs.
Comeback?
I don’t want to sit here and declare we’re full of spirit but it’s a great sign for us that we won the game, to see the difference in the second half. Fight, desire - we kept pushing and controlled that second half. Our problem at home has been control. It took a mistake from them to get the goal and then we had the belief.
Reaction from players at half-time?
I like that. There should be. You don’t want XI players just trotting out. You can’t come here and not have anything about you to get a result. It was about showing something and not roll up. The lads started talking and there was a bit of aggression, which was a good thing.
A big moment for spirit?
This will only be a turning point if we can show it going forward. Today we won with fighting spirit.
Jorginho lucky not to be sent off?
It could have been a second yellow. We might have struck a bit of luck with that one. It wasn’t absolutely clearcut and maybe sometimes you make your own luck. Maybe we got a slice.
Learning about yourself during this run too?
I’m always questioning myself. That’s how I am anyway. I question everything. But you can’t dwell on it. It’s more about working closely with the staff.
Lamptey was good. What's his contract situation?
We’ll see. He’s talking with the club and hopefully feels love that we parachuted him in. I’d seen him in training during my coaching badges. I saw him a lot in training and know he has a different dimension.
Important for Tammy to score versus a big six club?
It will help him for sure. Tottenham last week he showed everything apart from the goals. I get the big six thing from the outside. As he develops he’ll do that even more. That’s the beauty of Tammy, he will never hide and constantly be in the box and get hungrier.
