Press Conference. Frank Lampard speaks about Giroud, Barkley and Deinkwater

Nottingham Forest were knocked out of the FA Cup as they fell 2-0 to Premier League Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The hosts opened the scoring with six minutes gone when Callum Hudson-Odoi cut inside. The Blues doubled their lead when Ross Barkley pounced on the rebound after Smith parried a shot from Hudson-Odoi. Following the game, the Blues boss Frank Lampard faced the press. On the win
I’m pleased. These games are never easy. Pleased with the first half, not so much with the second. I wanted us to kick on. It’s the levels we want to sustain. On Callum Hudson-Odoi It was a good performance. Pleased to see him high up the pitch, it was a great goal. It has been an interesting 12 months for him. He has come back, but when he did there were issues to get him tip top. This was a nice step forward for him. When Callum comes back and when you are a player of speed and sharpness, when you have an injury like that it can be slightly held back. He has done a lot of work. He is getting stronger. As a player there is a lot more to come.
On the FA Cup
I would love to, obviously. It’s a tough final to get to. We have got through this round, but we have to set our sights to win it. It’s another competition to win.
On Olivier Giroud transfer latest
There is no update in Oli. I have spoken with him. If it’s something he wants to do, it’s good for me and the club then we’ll see. But it has to be all three.
FA Cup lost its sparkle?
'No I don’t. I understand that some managers might see it that way.
On Pedro and Ross Barkley
I think they did okay. All their applications were good. There were things that could have been better. Now we have a month in January that is important. I want competition.
Danny Drinkwater straight back on loan?
We’ll see. It’s a possibility.
