Premier League Team of the Season: Salah, Mane, Aubameyang, Aguero, Luiz

The 2018/19 Premier League season has come to an end and it was brilliant. Manchester City claimed their second consecutive Premier League title with Liverpool finishing a point behind in second. Chelsea and Tottenham took the other two Champions League spots. Arsenal finished fifth, while Manchester United ended the season in the sixth place. Cardiff City, Fulham and Huddersfield Town relegated from the Premier League. Top-Six teams of the Premier League scored 419 goals together and not to mention other 14 clubs. Stars from City and Liverpool dominated in the PFA Team of the Year, with nine of the 11 players in the line-up coming from the two title-chasers.  It is the same in our Fantasy Team of the Season. Now let us take a look who impressed and made it into 2018/19 season's Dream team of the week by VBet Fantasy Football. Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson made 38 appearances in his debut season with the Reds. The goalkeeper received a Golden Glove award and a place in our team, as he kept 21 clean sheets. Alisson’s teammate Andy Robertson and Virgil van Dijk also made exceptional performances for Jurgen Klopp’s side. Van Dijk has made 38 appearances, while Robertson-36. The Dutch player kept 20 clean sheets, while the Scotland captain-21. Robertson created 11 assists, while Van Dijk managed to make two, however, Van Dijk, who has been named PFA Player of the season, scored four goals for Liverpool. Sadio Mane exceeded himself, as the Senegal international made 36 appearances for the Reds, created an assist and scored 22 goals to claim a Golden Boot award. Mane’s teammate Mohamed Salah, who has been labelled as “One Season Wonder” proved, he is not for one season, as he scored 22 goals and created 8 assists in his 38 appearances for the Reds.   • Robertson created more chances from open play than any other Premier League defender this season (47).
  • Mane scored 18 home Premier League goals for Liverpool in 2018-19 - the most by any player and eight more than Huddersfield Town scored in total in their home games this season.
Manchester City claimed the Premier League title for the second time in a row and they have two players in our team of the Year. Aymeric Laporte made 35 appearances for the Blues, kept 18 clean sheets, scored three goals and created three assists. Another star in our team from Sky Blues is Sergio Aguero. The Argentine made 33 appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side, created eight assists and scored 21 goals. Did you know?
  • Aguero has scored 32 goals in all competitions for Man City this season - only in 2016-17 (33) has he scored more in a single campaign for the Citizens.
Chelsea ended the season in the third place to add three stars in our team of the season. Defender David Luiz made 36 appearances for the Blues, kept 16 clean sheets, scored three goals and created two assists. Luiz’s teammate Cesar Azpilicueta made the same amount of appearances and kept the same amount of clean sheets as the Brazil International. Azpilicueta created five assists for the Blues and scored a goal. Of course, the third player from Chelsea in our team is Eden Hazard, the king of assists. Hazard made 37 appearances for the Blues, scored 16 goals and created 17 assists. Did you know?
  • Hazard was involved in more goals than any other player in the Premier League this season (31 - 16 goals and 15 assists).
Arsenal finished fifth in the league but they have a star player in their side. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang made 36 appearances for Unai Emery’s side, scored 22 goals and created 15 assists. Aubameyang also won the Golden Boot award, alongside Salah and Mane. Did you know?
