Premier League 'rejected Man City's request for more medals' after title win

Manchester City were refused more Premier League winners’ medals despite making a request following their title win last season. According to Daily Mail, City were given a total of 40 medals to be handed out to the players and staff. However, they saw an appeal for extra ones turned down by the Premier League. Medals are awarded to any player who featured in five or more matches in the winning club's domestic campaign. Guardiola previously slammed the Premier League's rules on the issue. "It looks ridiculous to me," he said. "If they want my medal, I will give them my medal. They are champions. They worked from day one to the last one, in the locker room and training. They didn't play because of my decisions, but it's the same. Maybe it's so expensive for the Premier League to give three, four, five medals for the young guys. Of course I will be concerned by that."
