Leicester had a bit of nightmare once football returned during lockdown and they might still be suffering from that end-of-season tailspin. West Brom, by contrast, should be ready for business after their promotion to the Premier League. Slavan Bilic has brought well this summer, intelligently adding to his crop of experienced players and progressive youngsters. Leicester will, of course, be no pushovers, but they have plenty of injury problems at the back. We therefore expect the smart money to be on a home win at a value price of 3/1.

This is hardly the most eyecatching of opening-day fixtures – and the game could be just as uninspiring. Palace lost their way towards the end of the last campaign, having lost their last four games, and it is fair to assume that Roy Hodgson will be keen to start the rebuilding process from the back.
