Pochettino slapped with Champions League ban for ‘delaying kick-off against Ajax’

Mauricio Pochettino has been given a Champions League ban by UEFA. Pochettino fell foul of UEFA after being deemed responsible for the late start to the second half of their semi-final first leg with Ajax. Spurs were charged for the delay and with the “improper conduct of officials”. UEFA  confirmed: “Therefore, the coach is currently NOT suspended for any Uefa competition matches.” The incident perhaps indicates why Spurs were out of their dressing room three minutes before Ajax in last week’s second leg in Amsterdam. Spurs have also been fined £8,760 for the delay and a further £4,380 for the pitch invasion by one fan in the second half of the last eight home leg against Manchester City.
