Piers Morgan slams Mikel Arteta for dropping Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang against Tottenham

Journalist and massive Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has slammed Mikel Arteta for "publicly shaming" Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after controversially dropping the Arsenal captain for the north London derby. The 31-year-old was dropped to the bench for a breach of the club's pre-match protocol as he watched his team-mates come from behind to beat fierce rivals Tottenham 2-1 on Sunday. Following the incident, Morgan tweeted: "The more I think about the Aubameyang/Arteta thing, the less I like it. "Turning up a bit late shouldn’t warrant being dropped for a NLD, and for our manager to publicly shame our captain and best player in the way he did was wrong and disrespectful. "I stand with Aubameyang."

Former Good Morning Britain host later reiterated his claims, tweeting: "I think Aubameyang has been incredibly loyal to Arteta and deserved more than being publicly shamed by him."
