Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang hopes for Europa League glory after his brilliant display in Arsenal’s opener

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang struck twice as Arsenal defeated Ukraine’s Vorskla Poltava 4-2 in the Europa League on Thursday. Aubameyang has struggled to hit top gear in the Premier League so far with just one goal in five starts, but the Gabon striker opened the scoring in London after 32 minutes of the Group E encounter. And now, full of hope in their winning campaign Aubameyang sets his sights on the final in Baku. It was Aubameyang's first European appearance for the Gunners, having been cup-tied last term following his January move from Borussia Dortmund. “We want to go to the final of course,” he said. “I didn't play the Europa League last year with the guys so I am really happy to be back in this competition. "It's good to start with a win, and the next game will be important also. “I think we played well in the first half and in the beginning of the second as well. We have to improve and try to fight not to concede a goal like we did in the last minute." “But I hope we can do well in the next few games. We know the Premier League is long. We have to win these games straight away and perform quickly. It is good to start with a win,” Aubameyang added.
