Pep Guardiola's secret release clause revealed: Contract agreement means he could leave at the end of the season

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has a break clause in his deal, which could see him leave the club at the end of the season. Guardiola signed a deal with City last year, which will keep him until 2021. However, the contract included an agreement that he could leave at the conclusion of this campaign should certain stipulations that satisfy the club be met. After succeeding Manuel Pellegrini in 2016, Guardiola led City to back-to-back Premier League titles after finishing third in his first year. However, this season is underwhelming for the Sky Blues as they fall a hefty 14 points behind leaders Liverpool. According to sources, Guardiola will honour his deal, while contingency plans will be looked at with official at Etihad Stadium known to be admirers of ex-Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino. While nothing can stop him from walking out of the job at any stage, a break clause ensures that, were he to decide to leave, he would not be breaching a contract. However, City officials believe this will not be the case. Source- Daily Mail
