Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola clearly did not appreciate being compared to his old rival Jose Mourinho by a French Journalist ahead of Manchester City’s Champions League clash against Lyon. A journalist firstly asked Guardiola on weather would be prepared to adopt a defensive style in European games before following up by asking who was the better manager between him an old rival. "I am not the guy to answer that" he simply responded. "Nobody has a guaranteed way of playing to win the Champions League. Nobody can assure me playing a defensive way will win. Not even the way we play will win the Champions League. All we can do is play the way we want to play, and that is all I can assure you" Victory on Tuesday against Lyon in the Champions League will guarantee qualification to the knockout stages as group winners, but Pep Guardiola’s side only needs a point to ensure safe passage to the last 16.
