Pep Guardiola reveals when Manchester City injury crisis might be a problem

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has revealed when injury crisis might become a problem for the club. The Blues have started a good season, in spite of having two losses against Norwich City and Wolves. They have scored 46 goals during their 15 appearances in the Premier League, Champions League and Carabao Club. However, the Citizens face the long-term injuries of the club players, such as Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane along with Aleks Zinchenko and Rodri. Yet, Fernandinho has to miss the clash with Southampton after being sent-off from the 3 -0 win over Aston Villa. As the Blues are preparing for their key game against Liverpool next month, Guradiola has admitted they can overcome the short-time difficulties, however, the long-term absence of the players might affect the City's fortunate game in the future. He told: "The problem is for the short term we can handle it, for a long time, I don’t know. Of course against top, top, top, top teams when you don’t have players playing in their own position, I don’t know what’s going to happen but before it’s going to happen I am not going to say it’s a disaster. It is what it is. These situations exist in football, especially in one season, one long season. I prefer to have Laporte, but today John Stones played incredibly well apart from one or two actions they were solid defensively. It is not easy to defend against Wesley because he is so strong and he moves so well into the channels and that is the only way. We have these players, okay. We go with them. That is the best way to go through." City will be on action again for their Carabao Club game against Southampton tomorrow.   Source: Manchester Evening News
