Pep Guardiola has hinted that Sergio Aguero could play some part in Manchester City’s clash against Liverpool on the upcoming Sunday.
The Uruguay international has suffered a hamstring injury during West Ham match last week after starting three consecutive games following his long-term absence with a knee problem.
Speaking about Aguero’s fitness, Guardiola has revealed he is unsure whether the player will be fit for Liverpool game, though the striker will be in action again in the coming weeks.
“Right now we don’t know, he’s getting better but we don’t know,” manager said ahead of Tuesday’s Champions League group stage game with Olympiacos.
“We don’t want to make a step back again, but he’s getting better. What he felt was not so dangerous. He’s getting better – I don’t know about Liverpool but after the international break for sure he’ll be ready.”
