Pep Guardiola pays Sarri the biggest possible compliment despite sack rumours

After Chelsea’s 4-0 loss to Bournemouth and 6-0 defeat to City earlier in February, the Blues manager Maurizio Sarri are said to be on fire as Chelsea could easily replace him. However, Guardiola has compared Sarri’s Chelsea with some of the toughest teams he has faced in his career. Guardiola praised Sarri and the way he has organised his players after beating the Italian to win the Carabao Cup at Wembley. City won 4-3 after it went to penalites. "It was a tight game and we knew it would be because it was a final," said Guardiola. "I was impressed with the way Chelsea defended, they were well organised and one of the toughest teams I've faced in my career. "We knew they have pride and they would react [after the 6-0]. This game was more similar to the game at Stamford Bridge, which we lost [2-0]. It was tough. "I thought we played well for 70 minutes but then we suffered because we were tired. We had a few injuries as well which will demand a lot of us and now we could suffer but the title will help our mood going forward."
