Pep Guardiola is predicting that six clubs could rival Manchester City for the Premier League title this season.
Chelsea, Liverpool and Manchester United have all strengthen in the transfer market, while Leicester City, Tottenham and Arsenal are also among the clubs that could also be in the race to lift the league trophy this term.
"When we start the season every team wants to be champion. We were [champions]. We have a trophy in our cabinet, we start from zero this weekend and you have to win points and win points and win points," he said.
"Everyone starts, since I arrived here in the first season, people say it's completely different to the other leagues and it's more difficult where everyone can beat everyone. It's true, I felt it.
"Two teams, Man City and Liverpool have raised the bar. Now you need 90, 90, 90, 90, 90 to be champions, every season. Leicester is a fantastic team who join Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, United, Liverpool and ourselves to be contenders. We start for everyone to be in that situation. I know how difficult it is all contenders in this league. Always has been always will be. This is what we have to do."
