Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola has spoken out on EPL title race and Liverpool’s results this season.
Former Barcelona and Bayern Munich boss admits they can only take as many points as possible, as everything depends on Liverpool.
How important is it for you to keep the pressure on Liverpool and and keep winning and how difficult is it to be in that position?
“We cannot play the games against Liverpool, so we cannot do anything about their own games, they belong to them.” Guardiola told Goal. “All we can do is win our games. We’ve spoken many times in the last hours to our players, we cannot control what they do, we can only control what we do. But I’m pretty sure if we don’t win, they’ll be champions. That’s why we have to put pressure on them by winning our games.
“We’ve spoken about that. We have incredible numbers, we’ve done incredible numbers after last season, but it’s not easy to maintain this consistency. It’s incredible the numbers we had in that period. The numbers to be champions is no problem at all, but one team has done better so far. That’s why all you can do is be there until the end and after that the results will dictate who will win.”
