Pep Guardiola makes admission on Manchester City's striker need

Pep Guardiola has admitted that Manchester City are perfectly comfortable playing without a striker but he still wants one. This summer the Cityzens have been heavily linked with a move for Tottenham striker Harry Kane, however, the moved didn't happen. And after Sergio Aguero's departure City don't have a regular starter striker. But head coach Guardiola agreed that he is perfectly happy to play without a striker, even though denied they are even better without that focal point.
“No, we can play good with a striker as well,” he said.   “But imagine one player like Sergio or Gabriel (Jesus), and if in one action they drop a little bit to take the ball — we are playing without a striker in that moment.   “Sometimes you need to drop the striker for the movements that the opponents defend.   “The latest example - against Everton, Cole Palmer played like a false striker and in that moment we realised, during the first half, we didn’t need a false striker, we needed more movements in behind, and we sorted it at half time.   “We don’t have tall strikers for the headers, not even when Sergio was here, but at the same time we are a team and have to play in a certain rhythm and sometimes you need players who can play in that position to help us.   “But in some games we need guys who go in there, in the box. Gabriel was there from the cross by Riyad (Mahrez versys PSG), and Raz (Sterling) was there to score a goal, sometimes they arrive in the right moment. It depends on the quality of the players.   “But we cannot deny that playing with a player type like Bernardo, Cole, or other typical midfield players, we feel comfortable, we cannot deny.”
