Pep Guardiola hints at new Manchester City role for Gabriel Jesus

Gabriel Jesus could operate from a wide position for Manchester City more often to accommodate both him and Sergio Aguero in Pep Guardiola’s starting XI. Aguero and Jesus have played six times for Manchester City this season. And during those game, Jesus has played on the left-including four times since the new year. "They can play together," Guardiola said. "I think Gabriel can adapt perfectly in that way, especially because he doesn’t play really wide. He can play a little bit wider, then inside. Arsenal play with Aubameyang. Gabriel can play perfectly in that position and he’s done really well there." Guardiola backed his players to adapt when needed. "We can do it," he continued. "Sometimes we need more specific wingers in that position and it depends on the quality of our full-backs as well. To attack a defence like the last games, Sheffield Wednesday and (Man) United, they defend five at the back, so deep. You have to make the pitch wide. If you don’t then it’s more difficult."  Source: MEN Join us on Telegram!
