Paul Scholes sends Erling Haaland transfer message to Ed Woodward

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has urged the club to sign striker Erling Haaland. The Norwegian international opted to join Borussia Dortmund instead of the Red Devils back in January. Haaland was heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford, with his pre-existing relationship with United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. Solskjaer gave Haaland his senior debut at Molde back in 2017. On Monday, Haaland starred in a dominant 5-1 win over Northern Ireland for Norway, scoring a brace and United hero Scholes took to Instagram to urge his former club to sign the youngster. Posting a picture of Haaland on his story, Scholes simply captioned the image: "How much? Just pay it!" The 45-year-old is a big fan of Haaland and, speaking back in July, he told BBC Radio 5 Live that United should have pushed harder to sign him in January "Do you know what, when all the talk was about, I hadn’t seen a lot of him," Scholes said. "But then once the German football came back and I watched him properly, I thought: 'Why did Manchester United not just pay whatever anybody wanted for him?' "He looks that good, he’s still young, and he’s an out-and-out goalscorer. He’s quick as well, he’s got real pace. He’s a big lad, he’s a presence, and he scores goals – and that’s priceless. Looking back – and do you know what, he still might be available, who knows, in time – but United are going to have to pay big, big money for him. But so what? He looks the real deal."
