Paul Scholes explains why Man City could beat Manchester United to Erling Haaland transfer

Paul Scholes has admitted he's concerned that Alfe-Inge's relationship with Manchester City could decide Erling Haaland's next move this summer. According to MEN, Manchester United have made the 20-year-old striker their top transfer priority this summer. Manchester City also want to sign Haaland to replace the outgoing Sergio Aguero. Haaland's father, Alfe-Inge played over 30 matches for City and has been heavily involved in talks about his son's future, alongside agent Mino Raiola. "I think he'd have a big impact," Scholes told talkSPORT2 when asked about Haaland's future. "I know there's a relationship with Ole that he's had in the past. We all know how good he is, although I think I read he'd not scored in six games which is a bit worrying for him. Man United are desperate for a number nine, an out-and-out centre-forward and he would be the ideal choice. "Of course, he would. There are a couple of other options out there and you do have to worry about the City link with his dad which could be strong in this situation but let's see. Fingers crossed that, if he does move, he moves to the right side of Manchester."
