Paul Robinson predicts Tottenham midfielder to shine under Jose Mourinho

Former Tottenham goalkeeper Paul Robinson believes Dele Alli will shine under Jose Mourinho next season. The England international has recorded 9 goals and 6 assists in all competitions for Spurs this term, most of them came when Mourinho was appointed as the club manager. Despite his loss of form in recent months, Robinson believes Alli will return to his best next term. He told Football Insider: “I thought Dele and Jose would be the perfect fit. At first he looked rejuvenated under Mourinho in that number 10 role, getting goals and assists but he has been far too inconsistent and there lies the problem. I think Dele will respond to Jose’s man management skills. It is very easy to criticise a player for falling below a level you expect. We know what he can do and how good he is and when he falls below that it is very easy to criticise. Dele Alli has a lot of competition in his position at Spurs so if he doesn’t not perform in a game he gets put on the bench.”
