Olympic Games decision will impact Mohamed Salah, Takumi Minamino and Liverpool

Liverpool could be set for a big boost this summer, with Mohamed Salah and Takumi Minamino available for any Premier League football. Both Salah and Minamino were likely to join their national teams for the Japan Olympics. Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp revealed earlier this season that he would chat with Salah about his participation in the Tokyo event. Meanwhile, the Pharaons coach Gharib said he wants his talisman in the squad: "Out of the three senior players we’ll call up, Salah is the only one we’re settled on so far because he’s simply one of the top three players in the world. I haven’t talked to Salah at all about him joining the U-23 squad for the Olympics, but in all honesty, his participation in the Olympics will need a little effort from him as well." Minamino was also among Japan's first-choice strikers and was expected to be involved in the squad. However, reports on Tuesday claimed the Games were set to be postponed by 12 months due to coronavirus outbreak. As the 2020 Olympic Games are now expected to take place in 2021, the Reds players are free to play for the club. Liverpool are likely to be back for the Premier League action on May 2 after league football suspension. Source: Liverpool Echo
