Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seeks Antonio Valencia transfer advice on No.1 Manchester United target

Manchester United have won six of their last seven Premier League games and haven’t tasted defeat since a dismal reversal against Arsenal on November 1. But their upturn in form has seen them move up the table, to find themselves just five points behind league leaders, Liverpool. The January window set to open in just over a week and there are hopes that Solskjaer could add some extra quality to his squad. Ed Woodward has confirmed that the United boss will be backed in the transfer market. They could look to continue their policy of signing some of the most exciting youngsters in world football. Amad Diallo and Facundo Pellistri were both signed during the summer, with the former expected to join his new teammates at the start of the new year. United scouts are now eyeing a move for highly-rated midfielder Moises Caicedo. United are in the market for a long-term replacement for Nemanja Matic as evidenced by their almost year-long pursuit of Jude Bellingham. According to The Athletic, Solskjaer has leaned on the advice of United legend Antonio Valencia, who has offered a glowing report of his compatriot. Valencia’s verdict has seemingly been the deciding factor with the MEN reporting a £4.5million deal with Independienete del Valle close.
