Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reveals impact David de Gea signing new deal had on changing room

Recently, Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea signed a new contract with the club which will keep him until at least June 2023, with an option to extend for a further year. As the Red Devils are preparing to face Astana in the Europa League on September 19, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that De Gea's contract extension has given the squad a huge boost. "Most of the time we get to keep who we want to keep," said Solskjaer. "The longer it went the more I got to speak to David I was confident we would make it. David is delighted, I think you could see the focus in his eyes again against Leicester. "It gives everyone in front of him a boost because you feel secure with him behind and he's really worked hard this season. "I think we will see more of him putting him on a path to build him up. I'm sure he will be part of success at United." There were talks of De Gea preparing to leave the club as Juventus showed an interest to sign the goalkeeper, however, after signing a contract extension, the talks were dismissed. via Mirror.
