Ole Gunnar Solskjaer press-conference ahead of PSG Champions League match: Sanchez injury update and many more

Manchester United will be playing an away game against PSG on Wednesday and will aim to beat them as Paris Saint Germain have won the first leg (2-0) of the Champions League game. Ahead of the crucial match, the Red Devils' boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has given a press-conference.

on the tie

“It is a difficult test, but we can do it. We need the first goal and we need to stay in the game. Anything can happen. We need a good plan.”

on Ferguson

Will he speak to the players before the match? “No, he won’t no.”

on coming back

“Everyone knows we can do it, we’ve done it. Last year Juventus lost 3-0 to Real Madrid and then 3-0 up in second-leg, PSG vs Barcelona. There are so many examples of teams who can change results like this. “When no one believes in you, there’s always that bit of character you have to show. These players are not used to losing and we’re not happy with the loss in the home leg.”

on Molde vs PSG

“They were a good team, but the way they have developed has been fantastic.”

on matching PSG

"When nobody believes in you there is that bit of character we have to make. Making history is not the motivation, qualifying is. At our best we can match them."

gives Sanchez injury update

“He might be out for, it was a bad knee injury, so if it is four weeks or six weeks. Hopefully he will recover quickly.”

on Brandon Williams

“Brandon, full-back, can play both sides. It is the first time he has travelled with us, he didn’t expect to come.”

 on youngsters

“I think every young player at this club is dreaming of having the impact Rashy’s had. Tomorrow night might be a chance for some of the young ones.”

 on first leg

“When you concede a set-piece that is always disappointing, thew next ten minute’s were bad. We know their qualities on the counter-attack and that 10 minute period it looked like they would score every time.”

on game plan

“We have to get the first goal and then anything can happen. Goals always change games and if we get the first one we will start believing.”

on pressure on PSG

"We will never approach any game like that. We are expected to go out easily but that doesn’t happen with United players. Our pride was hurt in the first leg. If we have nine or two players playing at their top standards we will stand a chance. We can carry one or two."

on unhappiness of first leg

“I was disappointed, not unhappy. At half time 0-0 with the injuries we had we spoke about keeping a clean sheet because that was vital. I was disappointed with the way we conceded. “But then we went to Chelsea and Liverpool and didn’t concede so we know we can keep clean sheets.

on analysis

“We analyse games but in the heat of the moment we made a couple of mistakes and when you make small mistakes you get punished. “You can get away with it in the Premier League but can’t in the latter stages of the Champions League.
