Ole Gunnar Solskjaer lifts lid on Man City and makes United transfer claim

Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says his side can still attract the world’s best players even if they miss out on the Champions League. United are currently ninth, six points off the fourth spot. However, the fifth-place will earn a Champions League place this season following Manchester City’s two-year European ban. UEFA handed down a two-year European suspension for breaking FFP regulations. City are taking their case to the CAS (the Court of Arbitration for Sport) in a bid to get the decision overturned. It has been suggested, that some player might leave City due to the fact that they will not play in the Champions League. On the other hand, it was suggested that player could reject offers from United due to the same problem if they fail to qualify for the European club competition. However, Solskjaer said he does not believe players will be put off from joining United. “The Champions League gives the club more resources, more money, that's one thing," said Solskjaer. "It's a prestigious tournament to be in, of course. But doing as well as we can, and if we play well the rest of the season, and players that we might want are impressed by that, it might be easier to convince them to come here. But I don't think one season - this season is the Europa League - if next season is with or without the Champions League, I wouldn't say that's the be-all and end-all for a player to sign for us.” Source: The Mirror Join us on Telegram!
