Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes for triple injury boost and provides update on Edinson Cavani’s potential Manchester United debut

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hopeful of receiving a triple injury boost ahead of Manchester United’s heavyweight Premier League showdown against Chelsea on Saturday. Skipper Harry Maguire missed the midweek win over PSG in the Champions League, while Mason Greenwood has been omitted from the last two matchday squads. Experienced deadline day signing Edinson Cavani, meanwhile, has been forced to wait to make his debut having been forced to quarantine following his arrival. "Of course, we’ve got a training session this morning which is the last chance of preparation, but they’ve all got a chance, all of them. Edinson needs to tick all the boxes that he’s gone through in his programme to be ready and make an impact. I’ll have a discussion with him today, as well as with Mason and Harry," said Solskjaer. Solskjaer acknowledges Chelsea will represent a major threat to their hopes of extending their winning sequence to three matches. He added: "[Chelsea’s start] is like many of us, some very good games, some lesser performances, football is just settling now and teams are just getting into their shape. We know it’s gonna be a tough game against Chelsea, we had maybe four or five games against them last year, two teams that know each other really well."
