Nuno Espirito Santo makes Everton 'final third' claim after Wolves' loss at Goodison

Nuno Espirito Santo thinks that Everton's goal completely changed the game as his Wolves side suffered a 1-0 defeat at Goodison Park. Richarlison netted the only goal of the match followed by a well-taken Gylfi Sigurdsson corner early in the second half to make sure Carlo Ancelotti's side round off a disappointing campaign at Goodison Park with a victory. After the game the Toffees are seventh in the Premier League standings with 59 points, the same as Tottenham, with their last game coming against current champions Manchester City on Sunday. In his post match press conference, Wolves boss Nuno said: "The set piece, the corner, requires more focus in that moment and the game changed from there. "Everton is a very good team, especially in the final third with the quality they have. Overall, it was a very good individual performance from the players. "Set pieces are about individual tasks in that moment, and we made a mistake there." He also believes his side should have done a lot better with those chances when they fell their way. "Much more. Much more," when asked if his side could have done more from set pieces of their own. "We had big players today, the delivery was good, but we didn't achieve first contact and we allowed - especially in defence - that distraction that really punishes. "But it's part of our work, trying to improve on set pieces. I think we played a good game honestly, I keep insisting, it was a good game of football. "The moment of the goal changes everything. But the reaction took longer than we expected, but the reaction was good and we finished pretty well." Source- Liverpool ECHO Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
