Novak Djokovic tested positive for coronavirus

Novak Djokovic has tested positive for coronavirus, after the Adria Tour, a series of exhibition events that started in the Serbian capital. Djokovic then moved to Zadar, Croatia, last weekend. He left Croatia after the final was cancelled and was tested in Belgrade.  The Adria Tour in Eastern Europe has been suspended after Grigor Dimitrov and Borna Coric both tested positive over the weekend. The matches were played in front of full stadiums in Belgrade and Zadar in Croatia with no social distancing between the players. The stars were also filmed dancing topless in a nightclub. Djokovic’s wife Jelena has also tested positive.  Dan Evans has slammed Djokovic on Monday. British No.1 Evans said: “I just think it is poor example to set. Should Novak Djokovic, the world No.1 and the chairman of the Player Council, be setting a better example? I think your question answers what I think. Yes. Put it this way, I don’t think you should be having a players party and dancing all over each other and then two very good tennis players have tested positive. You should feel some responsibility in his event and how it has transpired. “Even if the guidelines in that country are not 2m I think we should all… it is not a joke is it? Even if the guidelines were taken away in this country to normal I would still be trying to keep myself out of the way as much as I could from other people. And I just think there has been a total disregard to that. “It is very unfortunate that Grigor has it, Coric has it but, you know, if you strip it back, is it a surprise? I think that is the question we should all ask. I think we could definitely learn from that. Now the US Open, I hope there is no second-guessing now on the US Open because of unfortunate events.” Source: Sky Sports
