Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep named ITF world champions for 2018

Novak Djokovic and Simona Halep have been honoured by the International Tennis Federation (ITF) for the achievements in 2018. “I am very honoured to be named ITF world champion again,” the Serb said. “I am particularly proud of this achievement after all that I’ve been through physically this year, but part of me always believed I could make it back to the top. It is very satisfying to join Pete Sampras by winning my sixth award.” Djokovic’s brilliant season included winning Wimbledon and the US Open while he also finished as the year-end No 1 on the ATP Tour.
