'No doubt' - Former football star drops his verdict on Mo Salah's contract at Liverpool

Kevin Phillips believes that Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards will be “desperate” to start Mo Salah's contract talks. The former Premier League star has spoken about Salah's ongoing contract talks with the Reds, which expires in 2023. It was announced earlier this month that Edwards is set to leave the club in the summer, but Phillips believes he will have one last job.
“There’s no doubt about it, he will want to sort that [Salah’s] contract out before he leaves,” the ex-Sunderland striker told Football Insider .
“He will be desperate to get it sorted and I’m sure he will.   “I think some people would say his time at Liverpool would be tarnished if Salah doesn’t sign a new deal and leaves at the end of the season. I certainly don’t see it like that.   “He’s amazing at what he does, and has done an amazing job in my eyes in terms of player recruitment. You cannot take that away from him.”
The Egypt international desires to stay at Anfield, with any potential deal likely to see him become the highest paid player in the club’s history.   Source - liverpoolecho Join us on Telegram!/ Follow us on Twitter!
