Niko Kovac has opened up on Bayern Munich's plan in the crucial Champions League game against Liverpool

Bayern Munich are preparing to host Liverpool in the Champions League round of 16, second leg. After the first leg, the score is a goalless draw and both teams will aim to win and qualify for the  quarter finals. Ahead of the game, Niko Kovac has revealed the team's plan and how to stop Virgil van Dijk. “We can’t sit back and defend without any plan," said Kovac. "We have to get into the match rhythm and we know Liverpool are the strongest team in transitional play. If we don’t get this balance it could be all over.” “After the first leg we analysed very well. Of course you can take lessons out of it. What we have to do better, we have to be more efficient," continued Kovac. “We have to play in these free spaces. They are strong in defence, no doubt. We can score goals. We have showed that and proved that in the Bundesliga. We created a lot of opportunities in the matches that we converted into goals. “I’m confident that with the support of our fans we can create more.”
