Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante states he’s “sure” his side can get a positive result from their trip to Liverpool on Thursday. Jurgen Klopp’s side have lost the last four home games in the Premier League before the 2-0 victory over Sheffield United on Sunday.

That success saw them move to just a point behind fifth-place Chelsea. Kante says the Blues will head to Merseyside hoping for a win that would do wonders for their top-four hopes.

“It is an important game for us, we are very close in the league,” the Frenchman told Sky Sports. “We go there for a win. We know that it is not going to be easy but we go with hope, and I’m sure that we can get a good result from Anfield.”

Kante knows it will be tough for the Blues to gain Champions League football next season.

“Now it’s our challenge to get this position,” he continued. “Man Utd, Leicester and West Ham are ahead of us, but we still have many games to play, and if we’re doing well then we have the ability to get this position. We need to fight for it, to prepare to it, and to do everything we can to get in this top four.”
