Newcastle United midfielder Sean Longstaff has called the performance of his team against Leicester City ” f***ing embarrassing”.
Magpies lost 5-0 at King Power Stadium to remain with only 1 win after 7 matches. Steve Bruce’s team is in relegation zone and not everything is well in the dressing room currently. Bruce’s even cancelled the training session after the defeat.
“It’s f***ing embarrassing. Sorry for swearing, but it is. There’s nothing really much else to say. We should never put the fans in a position where they’re cheering just for the sake of it.” Longstaff said (via Daily Mail)
“We’ve got to be much, much better than that. It’s a massive wake-up call, if there hadn’t been already. We’ve got to forget it as quickly as we can. Hopefully, there are no more days like that to come.” he added.
Newcastle will face Manchester United at St. James Park next Sunday and then will visit Stamford Bridge to play against Chelsea. Those two matches could be decisive for team’s future as Steve Bruce could be sacked in case he doesn’t start providing result.
