Newcastle United gives an update on Matt Ritchie

Newcastle United have given an update on the club’s winger Matt Ritchie. The 30-year-old has undergone an operation after picking up an ankle ligament injury. The club statement reads: “The 30-year-old was injured after a challenge by Hamza Choudhury​ in August's Carabao Cup tie against Leicester City. It is hoped that Ritchie will be able to resume full training shortly. (He) could return to the first-team action towards the end of this month.” Newcastle’s next Premier League match is against Chelsea on 19th of October.
