Newcastle United have given an update on the club’s winger Matt Ritchie.
The 30-year-old has undergone an operation after picking up an ankle ligament injury.
The club statement reads:
“The 30-year-old was injured after a challenge by Hamza Choudhury in August's Carabao Cup tie against Leicester City. It is hoped that Ritchie will be able to resume full training shortly. (He) could return to the first-team action towards the end of this month.”
Newcastle’s next Premier League match is against Chelsea on 19th of October.
